CloudDreamR - Blog - 001

It's not every day that I decide to delve into the world of DIY electronics and computers - especially ones designed to transmit data to each to other.

Since encountering the work of Olivier Van Herpt, a Dutch artist who works with a personalized 3D ceramic printer that he designed and programmed himself, I've found myself increasingly interested in DIY computer hardware and software.

In cinema the capturing of an image and it's sequencing to create movement has been around for a long time, and as a film-maker and photographer I've spent a lot of time working with different ideas about frames and sequencing.

CloudDreamR is a project that I designed to step away from my more orthodox approaches to filmmaking and as well as to step towards new ideas around DIY computers, sensors and data technology. Big Data, Machine Learning, and Digital Communications also feature in the concepts for this project.

Today I biked into the FabLab and picked up my package from Adafruit.

I'm excited about getting the gear the and a little apprehensive about figuring out how to use it.

Here's what arrived in the mail.
